Participating

Having many ways where people can find their place

Plug people in

Do people in your church community know they have a place and feel ‘plugged in'? Where can a parent of a family participate and serve in church life, so they begin to feel like they are part of something bigger?

Make space

Are there spaces that would help include newer families and position them on the journey towards transformation?

Prioritise relational connection

Where can you make introductions? Why not introduce those who are new to others who are embedded in church life so they can build friendship. Sometimes this is socially and other times it’s getting stuck into team and serving alongside each other.

Be a passionate people

Different passions bring different people alive. Do you know what makes people thrive? Can you connect those who share common interests?

I was delighted that a mum we know from Make Lunch, joined our volunteer team at short notice to serve drinks and snacks. She really enjoyed being part of the team at a difficult time for her. Since the event, she attended our community service and has joined the volunteer team for weekly coffee mornings. - Chester-le-Street Methodist

'The mother of the TLG family helped us set up for the Light Party which she enjoyed more than the party! Because we had a lot of fun talking with another lady whilst preparing the room and crafts, she would like to help at the next event’.
