TLG’s statement on this year’s results

TLG's statement in response to the government's decision regarding this year's Further Education and Key Stage 4 (and equivalent) results

Before coming to TLG, Beth worked as a Fundraising Project Manager for poverty-relief charity Christians Against Poverty. Beth also has expansive experience in the political sector. Beth is a season ticket holder at Huddersfield Town and enjoys hiking through the Yorkshire countryside followed by a local ale in the pub.

TLG’s response to summer holiday provision

On 16th June - in response to pressure from individuals, charities and other MPs - the government committed to funding holiday provision for children in receipt of Free School Meals over the summer holidays. Tim Morfin, CEO of Transforming Lives for Good (TLG), responded on behalf of the charity to this announcement.

Tim Morfin is the founder and Chief Executive of TLG. Tim, together with a group of other volunteers from a local church, began TLG by helping young people struggling in school in Bradford. He now leads the organisation nationally, still committed to bringing hope and a future to children and their families. He is married to Rachel and has three teenage sons.

Liz recently won Runner Up for The Telegraph’s Lockdown Awards in the Community Hero category! We had a chat with Liz, who gave us a bit of insight into her role as Make Lunch Coordinator in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire.

Jasmine graduated from The University of Sheffield in the summer of 2019, and has been working for TLG since. She's worked within the Volunteer Programmes and Supporter Relations teams, and is now serving TLG within Comms and Influence. A lover of the outdoors and cooking, she is passionate about seeing the local church in action to support the most vulnerable in society.

James is the Headteacher at one of TLG's Education Centres. He is married with 2 young children. He began his teaching career as a primary school teacher in Stoke-on-Trent and has been at TLG since 2016!

“It isn’t fair” - Rachael’s fundraising story as she prepares to walk 13 miles!

Today we share Rachael's story of why she's been inspired to walk 13 miles to fundraise for TLG. She tells us why it simply isn't fair that children from a disadvantaged and difficult background are more likely to be excluded from education - and the difference that the local church can make in such dark circumstances.
