Graduate opportunities

Looking for a graduate opportunity with a difference? TLG’s graduate programmes provide unique leadership opportunities, guaranteed to kick start your career with a minimum of 18 months of personal investment and development at a pioneering Christian charity.

With over 1.5 million UK children eligible for free school meals and more than 449,000 school exclusions each year, the need to support struggling young people is at a crucial point. That's where you come in! Joining TLG as a graduate offers you a hugely rewarding opportunity to get stuck into tackling the problems that children & young people are facing each day across the UK. As a growing team we are always looking for great people to be part of this exciting movement.

At TLG, no day is the same. Every day will teach you something new and present opportunities to lead and change the status quo for struggling children & young people.

Make your mark through one of our two Graduate Programmes:

1. Teacher Training Programme

Programme length: 2 years

We are introducing a brand new teacher training opportunity for 2020. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to achieve qualified teacher status within 2 years, in an independent school providing alternative education provision. All your training costs will be fully covered and at the same time, you will be in paid employment and enjoying all the benefits of being part of the TLG team.

Our teacher training programme provides a frontline teaching experience for graduates who are determined that no young person should be locked out of future opportunities due to exclusion or their personal circumstances. Throughout the programme, you'll receive high-quality training from experienced teachers and practitioners to springboard your career in education. In addition, you'll gain invaluable insight into church-based social action with one of the UK's fastest growing Christian charities.

The first year provides a unique training package, offering you opportunities to work alongside our educational leaders to accelerate your career in what would be one of your most fun and challenging years yet. The second year then provides a mix of classroom and college-based training to achieve Qualified Teacher Status, all whilst being a fully paid member of the TLG team.

Places are available across the UK.

2. National Support Development Programme

Programme length: 18 months

If you are looking to launch your career in the UK not-for-profit sector then look no further than TLG! Taking a specific role within TLG at our National Support Centre in West Yorkshire, this 18-month programme offers paid employment for both graduates and post-graduates whilst providing the opportunity to lead and shape key areas within an established Christian charity. You will be provided with scope for growth and experience alongside a valuable insight into what ensures TLG continues to go from strength to strength. The programme is designed to give you all the tools you need to kick-start and progress your career.
