Our approach

It takes a village to support a child – and we believe the people around a child can change their story.

That’s why we adopt a ‘village approach’, connecting local churches, schools and families so children experiencing emotional and mental wellbeing struggles can receive consistent care, support and hope in the spaces that shape their everyday lives.

Our unique approach differs from other charities. We equip everyday Christians to provide meaningful support to children – being there when it matters, whether in a church space or a school setting.

We are proud to play a ‘connecting’ role between local churches who want to serve their community, local schools who want to support struggling pupils, and local families who don’t always where to turn when things get tough.

Working closely with local churches, we ensure the support that children and families receive reflects our principles as a Christian children’s wellbeing charity:

Compassionate support: It always starts with the heart - with a deep care and compassion for the child.

Child-centred support: It centres on the unique needs of the child – their circumstances, their experiences, and their wellbeing.

Therapeutic support: Professionally written training built on therapeutic models of counselling, combined with carefully crafted resources, ensure meaningful support that goes beyond a ‘nice chat’.

Trauma-informed support: It uses the PACE model (Play, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) – a trauma-informed approach to building safe, trusting relationships.

Our approach is simple yet powerful - underpinned by an unwavering mission to make hope real for children struggling with their emotional and mental wellbeing.

Together, we offer school-based coaching connecting children with a trusted adult; church-based spaces offering counselling to children and families; and church-run clubs for children and families to share community, belonging and meals that matter.
