Therapeutic Hubs
What if your church could provide professional, therapeutic support to the most vulnerable children and young people in your community - not just a listening ear, but access to a trained counsellor and meaningful, ongoing family support?
Across the UK, too many children quietly struggle with emotional and mental health challenges. Some are waiting months, even years, for support. Others don’t meet the threshold for specialist services but still desperately need help.
No child should have to face tough times alone. That’s where a TLG Therapeutic Hub comes in. Hosted by your church and delivered by TLG, a hub provides therapeutic care for children, young people, and families - whilst creating a warm, trusted connection point with the wider life of your church community.

What is a Therapeutic Hub?
Hosted in your church, run by TLG:
A Therapeutic Hub is a professional counselling service for children, young people, and families, hosted in your church and run by TLG.
Timely, professional support:
A qualified Head of Service leads the hub, supported by counsellors who provide regular one-to-one sessions for children who are struggling emotionally or mentally – including those on long waiting lists and those who don’t qualify for specialist support.
A wider network of care:
The Hub can also support your local schools, with your church at the heart of a wider network of care.
Championing local families:
To respect clinical boundaries, while helping families experience the welcome and belonging of the local church, TLG trains and supports a Family Champion volunteer from your church community. The Family Champion offers a separate relational connection for families – making them feel known, valued, and supported.
How a TLG partnership works
Your church provides a welcoming space, a committed community, and a Family Champion volunteer. TLG brings the Head of Service, counsellors, clinical supervision and governance, insurance, systems, and marketing support. Together, we offer a compassionate, professional response: your church holds the community relationship; TLG holds the clinical responsibility.
Sharing the cost
The church’s main financial contribution is an annual bursary fund of £12,000. This helps families who couldn’t otherwise afford counselling to access the help, removing cost as a barrier to a child being seen and supported. TLG covers staffing and running costs.
How a family can access your help
Therapeutic Hubs are designed to be accessible and welcoming places for families of all backgrounds, including those with no church connection. Typically, a family gets plugged into your hub in this way:
- A family may hear about the hub through your church, a local school, or the wider community.
- They complete a short referral form and then speak with the Head of Service.
- If the hub is the right fit for their child, regular counselling sessions begin.
- The Family Champion helps families feel welcomed and connected to your wider church community, whilst the child receives professional therapeutic support.
Strengthening what you already do
A Therapeutic Hub complements, rather than replaces, the pastoral care and children’s work your church may already offer.
Together, we can make hope real for children and families struggling in your community.
