Head of National Development

Starting Salary: £40,806 - £51,020 (FTE) (depending on experience)
Working hours: 4-5 days (including occasional evening and weekend work)

Location: National Support, West Yorkshire

The post holder will work alongside the Director of National Development to lead and support the four teams who fundraise for and grow the impact of the organisation within National Development, as well as personally leading the growth of Major Donor partnerships. We are looking for a proven leader and manager with excellent interpersonal and relational skills, who has a track record of exceeding expectations and results.

The post-holder must understand how to inspire, challenge and motivate a range of high-level stakeholders to engage with the work of TLG, as well as being able to demonstrate significant leadership experience! They will be an excellent communicator – both written and verbal and will be excited to make a significant difference for struggling children through this varied and influential role. They will have a strong attention to detail as well as being able to focus on high level strategy and delivery. Ideally, they will have a range of fundraising, communications or advocacy experience or they will be able to demonstrate significant transferable skills.

The individual will be passionate about making as much of an impact as possible in order to support both the growth of TLG to be helping 10,000 struggling children a year by 2026 and about raising awareness of the issues children are facing in the UK today. As a rapidly growing charity, we are focused on becoming a household name in order to be able to make a substantial difference for struggling children across the country, and the applicant must be up for a challenge in a fast-paced environment! For the right applicant this will be an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, pioneering team who spearhead the growth of the organisation.

HR Admin & Systems Coordinator

Starting Salary: £18,054 - £20,061 (FTE)

TLG is a rapidly growing charity seeking an excellent administrator to provide key support to our Bradford based HR, People & Culture team. This role will work closely with TLG’s HR Advisors, requiring someone with a desire for detail and accuracy across a number of crucial areas and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.

The role will lead on key administrative processes across the HR function, including staff records, safeguarding checks, and assisting the team with recruitment administration. Furthermore, the postholder will play an essential role in data reporting and payroll processes, so we are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail. You will be joining the team at an exciting time where we’re implementing a new HR system, so we’re looking for someone who thrives in providing operational excellence and setting up logical processes to ensure the system is used to its full potential. The successful person will need to be comfortable handling a wide range of different administrative duties and be able to meet multiple demands and responsibilities.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with a strong passion for administration and organisational skills. With high capacity, proactive instinct and excellent communication skills, the HR Admin & Systems Coordinator will need to be comfortable handling a wide range of administrative duties and be able to meet multiple demands and responsibilities. The role may also provide opportunities to offer administrative support to different teams within TLG as they help to shape how TLG operate and function.

West London Classroom Teacher

Starting Salary: £22,937 - £29,336 (FTE) + London weighting where applicable

Working as part of the TLG centre team in the West London Centre, the Classroom Teacher post provides a unique opportunity to support young people experiencing educational crisis.

TLG West London is a centre for alternative education provision delivering tailored social and educational interventions for young people.  The Classroom Teacher will play an integral role in enabling young people to get their lives back on track, through delivering innovative programmes and working with the Centre Manager to ensure that the education centre achieves success.

 The role involves assistance with the planning and delivery of lessons, leading sessions as timetabled and providing one-to-one support as appropriate to bring excellence to the young people’s learning experience.  The individual will also act as a link between TLG’s students, their families and the local church community.

 We are looking to recruit an individual with a strong and vibrant Christian faith. TLG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff including volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS check.

Finance Director

Starting Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (FTE)

Location: Either TLG National Support Centre, West Yorkshire or remote based with time spent in West Yorkshire.

Transforming Lives for Good (TLG) is a national Christian charity that helps churches to bring hope and a future for struggling children.

This is an exciting time to join us. Recognised as the UK’s Best Charity to Work For by the prestigious Sunday Times Annual Awards in 2019, we have developed three high-impact programmes that more and more churches across the UK are running and funding. This has led us to double in income in the last four years. We expect to do so again by 2026.

With more than 100 staff and income of over £5m, we have been upgrading our finance system and growing the finance team to keep pace but there is much more to do. Your task will be to continue this good work so that we have the appropriate systems, reporting and team capabilities for our scale now and in the future. Overseeing a team of 5 staff across finance and compliance, you will bring coherence, order to complexity and organisational excellence. You will also serve as Director of our commercial subsidiary Hope Park Business Centres that generates £800k of unrestricted funds for the charity.

We’re looking for a commercially minded and relational leader capable of developing the finance team and bringing strategic financial leadership to the organisation at every level. Volunteer Programmes Regional Leader (London)

Starting Salary: £14,413-£15,864 (FTE £24,022 - £26,441) (+ London Weighting where appropriate)
Working hours: 22.50 Hours (3 days) per week.
Closing Date: Monday, November 23rd, 2020

Location: Greater London, currently covering postcode areas: WD, HA, UB, NW, W, WC, SW, TW, KT, SM, CR, SE, BR, EC, E N, EN, IG, RM and DA.

Please note that while being home-based, the role will require you to travel. You will also be expected to attend events and meetings during the year as well as visits to our National Support office in West Yorkshire.

Role Context: TLG Volunteer Programmes are available for churches who have a heart for the struggling children and families in their communities. For Early Intervention, we train, equip and support volunteers to coach children for an hour a week in school. For Make Lunch, we train and support volunteers to provide nutritious meals and activities during the school holidays.

The TLG Regional Leader role offers a unique opportunity to manage a cluster of Early Intervention Centres and Make Lunch clubs within the Greater London area of England. The ideal candidate will be a very organised, strong relationship builder with a vibrant Christian faith.

This key role involves training, leading and supporting new and established TLG Early Intervention and Make Lunch Programmes, working mainly with the Volunteer Coordinators who are leading their team of volunteers. The Regional Leader will be required to support progress against set key performance indicators to ensure the best possible support is given for thriving programmes.

The communities we serve are many and varied and we are committed to ensuring that our employees are able to understand and meet the needs of these communities. In London, we are particularly wishing to reach out to black majority and multi ethnic background churches so the person we are looking for will have deep understanding and possibly a lived experience of the issues that these communities face.

National Development Phone Team

Starting Salary: £8.72 per hour
Working hours: Zero Hours

The Supporter Development team is passionate about developing the UK-wide reach and support of TLG. We exist because of the partnership with our incredible supporters and volunteers throughout the UK. This exciting, growing team is dedicated to further inspiring and building relationships with supporters so that together we can have a greater impact on struggling children and their families.

 This role involves phoning existing and potential supporters to inspire them about the life transforming work of TLG. With excellent communication skills, the post holder will be responsible for connecting with supporters about a range of opportunities for them to engage with, and increase, their support of the charity. This team also has a strong focus on updating supporter contact information, so a keen eye for detail is necessary.

 The post holder will be warm, friendly, driven, passionate, have great IT skills, be a strong communicator and must share a strong desire to see the lives of more children and families impacted by the local church throughout the UK!

 We are looking for individuals who have a strong and vibrant Christian faith. There are limited spaces available on the team and applications are reviewed at regular intervals, rather than at the closing date.  Working hours are flexible (dependent on availability across our phone team times, which are: Tuesdays & Thursday 4-8pm). Ideally 2 nights a week 4-8pm, but will consider less hours.
