I don’t want a gift in my will to be subject to inheritance tax
The good news is that if you leave a gift to charity in your will, the donation will not be taxed and won’t count towards the total taxable value of your estate.
In addition, leaving a charitable gift in your will can actually have tax benefits on your entire estate. If you leave 10% or more of the net value of your estate to charity, you can reduce the tax threshold of your entire estate from 40% to 36%.
