7 Reasons we’re excited for 2018!

7 Reasons we’re excited for 2018!

22nd January 2018

At TLG we love looking forward. We’re all about bringing hope and a future to as many children and families as possible, and with the number of school exclusions rising every year, we’re up for hitting the road and making that happen.

So what is there to look forward to in the coming year? Read on to find out and discover how you can join with us!

Hand in Hand

We’re kicking off a huge year by getting involved with Hand in Hand, an exciting national children’s ministry conference created to inspire and equip those involved in children’s work across the country. This year, we’re thrilled to be sponsoring the event, as well as hosting the Northern weekend at our home – Hope Park in Bradford. There’s still time to get your tickets, so click here to find out more and get booked on!

Fundraising and Awards Dinners

We love heading around the country to celebrate the huge achievements of the children and young people who we help! Every year we’re blown away by your generosity and commitment to supporting us in our mission, so we can’t wait to see lots of you joining us this year. We’ll be hosting our dinners across the country this year, starting with our dinner in Essex at the beginning of March – make sure to keep an eye out for exact dates throughout 2018.

New Early Intervention Centres

In 2017 we reached a milestone of 100 church partners, working with us to help struggling children and families across the country. We’re not stopping there, though, as this year we’re aiming to open 52 new Early Intervention Centres across the UK - that’s 1 a week! Family Adventure Weekends – 2 of them!

Last month we asked for your help with our Christmas Appeal, raising money to take 156 people on holiday this year – some of them for the first time ever! These weekends are always highlights of the year, and this year we’re running 2 weekends, giving more families than ever the chance to come away and spend precious time together. This is only possible because of you, our amazing supporters’ generosity, so we can’t thank you enough!

New Wine

We love going to New Wine every summer, spreading the word about TLG and running cafés with our lovely volunteers.  This summer is going to be bigger than ever as we’re running the Arena café, and we can’t wait to get stuck in! We’re already on the lookout for volunteers, so send Hannah an email at hannah.drury@tlg.org.uk if you’re up for smiling, serving coffee and of course, free tickets!

A new Education Centre

We have 13 Education Centres across the UK, each bringing vital support for young people who have been excluded or who are struggling in mainstream school. We’re seeing the need grow and grow, and so this year we will be opening another Education Centre to help more young people find hope and a future. If you’re interested in partnering with us, click here to find out more.

TLG Sunday

This year, on Sunday the 23rd September TLG will be running its very first TLG Sunday! We’re really excited about this chance to join with churches across the country who are passionate about helping struggling children and their families – just like us! Keep your eyes peeled for more information about this exciting opportunity and get in touch to find out more.

What a year we have in store! What we’re most excited about in 2018, though, is the chance to help more young people and their families. Make sure you keep up to date with everything that’s going on and how you can get involved through our social media, email updates, magazines and website, and stay in touch – we love hearing from you!
