THE VISION

TLG is a Christian charity that believes education is a basic human right.
We know that it can help to create opportunity and to live life with purpose.
TLG aims to provide a second chance to all children and young people
who have been excluded from school or at crisis point in their education
and provide that opportunity.

However, we know that's not the full story and to see children and young
people move on in their lives often requires going beyond just education.

TRANSFORMING

We believe that children and young people do not have to be victims of their circumstances. Those at TLG have often experienced crises- from family breakdown, being in the care system, bereavement and bullying to drug or alcohol abuse, gang involvement or other distressing circumstances. We aim to support individuals to work through the underlying causes of their behaviour whilst catching up on vital qualifications.

LIVES

TLG wants each child and young person to know that they are unique, gifted
and able to achieve both now and in the future. Our programmes are designed to help individuals grow in confidence, raise their aspirations and reach their full potential- providing building blocks for a better life.

for GOOD

As children learn better ways to manage their emotions and behaviour they can then apply those skills to go back to school and achieve future goals. Our vision is to see young people receive support and see transformation in every area of their lives - for the rest of their lives.

THE FACTS

- 1 in 6 young people who have been excluded from
school will die before they reach 25

- 370,000 young people are excluded from school in the
UK every year, 37,000 of which are primary school
children.

EARLY INTERVENTION AND EDUCATION CENTRES

The importance of partnership

Building upon our past experience and success, our vision is to bring the opportunity of TLG to children and young people in every part of the UK.

We are opening up to three new Education Centres and supporting ten new Early Intervention centres each year. Each centre is delivered in partnership with a local church partner to reflect the community in which they are based and ensure that they bring the best possible support to children, young people and their families.
