TLG Reading Centre Manager

Starting Salary: £25,767 - £33,199

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage our Education Centre in Reading working with disadvantaged 12-16 year olds.

The TLG Centre is an innovative, independent school delivering tailored social and educational interventions for young people. Working in partnership with Reading Community Church, the centre utilises imaginative curricula and resources, passionate staff and tried and tested methods of engagement to educate young people and transform their lives.

We are seeking a Centre Manager who will be responsible for leading a team of staff and volunteers working to educate and transform the lives of disaffected young people. The role requires a blend of classroom skills, and management skills; working to effectively grow and develop the centre’s reputation as an outstanding education provider for excluded young people.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with an ability to communicate effectively, and a great awareness of the needs facing disadvantaged young people in the local community.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong and vibrant Christian faith who is willing to be a member of a diverse and dynamic worshipping community at Reading Community Church. The candidate will be part of the leadership structure of the church and therefore should expect to work strategically with other key departments to fulfil the vision and goals of the church.

National Support Admin Asssitant - Temporary

Starting Salary: FTE £16,687 - £20,821 Pro-rata

Location: Bradford

The National Support Admin Assistant vacancy is an exciting temporary opportunity for someone who enjoys working across teams, with a variety of tasks and responsibilities. The role is based at the Bradford National Support Centre and provides assistance to managers and teams who support the work of TLG across the country. 

The role will be specifically supporting a two month project to provide excellent administrative support to TLG's Free School team in completing applications to the DfE for transitioning TLG Education Centres to Free Schools. The successful applicant will also support other managers and functions as required including HR & Finance.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has great attention to detail, can pick up tasks quickly,  and complete tasks within agreed timescales. The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with a number of key managers to ensure the whole project keeps within strict timescales.

The role requires excellent communication skills with the ability to lead/influence others.

TLG are looking for inspirational teachers with a passion for alternative provision to fulfil a variety of leadership roles within our Education Centres (based in UK cities). Working with dis-engaged young people aged 12-16 years; we are looking for talented individuals who have an excellent blend of formal and informal approaches to re-engaging young people back into school.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate an outstanding commitment to educational rigour, but also exceptional abilities to provide holistic support to young people and their families.  We are looking for candidates with a strong and vibrant Christian faith, as our centres work in partnership with churches right across the UK.

TLG West London Centre Manager

Starting Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience)
Closing Date: Monday, July 8th, 2013
Location: West London (Hammersmith)

Working at our TLG Centre with independent school status in Hammersmith, West London in partnership with St Paul’s Hammersmith.

The successful candidate will run the TLG Centre (independent school / alternative education provider). This involves leading a team to establish, deliver, manage and grow the TLG Centre, working mainly with disaffected young people aged 12-16.  The candidate will utilise imaginative curricula and resources, support progress against set objectives alongside mobilising tried and tested methods of engagement to 'educate young people and transform lives'.

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher, and have a strong and vibrant Christian faith to ensure the continuation of an excellent partnership between TLG & St Paul’s Hammersmith. The role is full-time.

Interview dates: 15th & 16th July 2013 (The first round of the interviews will be conducted by St Paul's to assess the fit with the church's vision and culture, successful applicants will then be put through to the second round of interviews which will be conducted by TLG on 16th. Both interviews will take place in London)
