The earlier we can support a child, the greater impact this will have on their future - reducing the risk of exclusion later in their life.
TLG trains volunteers as Behaviour Coaches to go into schools and support primary-aged children through issues which are often outside their control, such as family breakdown and bullying.
TLG want to invest in a child's future and help build strong connections between families and schools. A child who is unhappy at school is given a Behaviour Coach to work on a series of ‘timeout projects’. These projects give a child space and time to think about their behaviour and get the support they need.

- 65% of the young people TLG work with in our Education Centres struggled with their education throughout Primary School
- There are over 37,000 exclusions from Primary Schools each year

1 CHILD
Each child is given time and individual attention to help them identify how cope and catch up on missed learning.

1 HOUR
At least one hour a week ensures consistent support through creative sessions. Many volunteers also develop relationships with families who may be needing extra support too.
The importance of partnership
Building upon our past experience and success, our vision is to bring the opportunity of TLG to children and young people in every part of the UK.
We are opening up to three new Education Centres and supporting ten new Early Intervention centres each year. Each centre is delivered in partnership with a local church partner to reflect the community in which they are based and ensure that they bring the best possible support to children, young people and their families.
1 COACH
In partnership with the school, a volunteer behaviour coach is trained by TLG to provide in-school support to a child who is struggling.
